What does it mean that Canton Christian is a not-for-profit community?

More than just a legal designation by the IRS, being not-for-profit means a world of difference at Canton Christian Home.  Rather than paying a profit to an owner or stockholder, revenues in excess of expenses stay with the organization to augment the care of residents.  But more than just a term, the not-for-profit status of Canton Christian Home reflects the underlying philosophy of Christian ministry in all we are about.  Both staff and residents are committed to an atmosphere of unconditional love and caring where the spiritual, social and physical well-being of residents can be enriched.  

What happens if my health status changes and I need more care?

One of the most important benefits of living at Canton Christian Home is the access to a variety of health services. As a (CCRC) continuing care retirement community we’ve got you covered. No matter what your needs are you’ll have the security of a full continuum of care that includes, Apartment Living, Residential with Services, Assisted Living, Nursing Care and Rehabilitation services.  As care needs change residents move with-in the building to accommodations that meet their health care needs.  

Is there an age requirement to live at Canton Christian Home?

Prospective residents must be at least 62 years of age.  

What up-front fees are required for new residents moving into Canton Christian Home?

There is a $150 application fee for prospective residents.  Fully refundable security deposits are required of residents moving into Apartment Living, Residential with Services and Assisted Living.  There are no entry fees or life care fees at Canton Christian Home.   Residents do not sign over their assets to Canton Christian Home. Incoming residents manage their own finances and assets either by themselves or through designated individuals.  

Do residents sign a lease?

Residents sign a resident agreement.  Residents pay month to month and are not tied into a long- term lease. A thirty day notice is required prior to moving out.  

Are pets welcome at Canton Christian Home?

Yes, we are pet friendly. We welcome your well-behaved cat or dog.  There is a small one time pet deposit required and a maximum weight limit. The pet must receive an annual exam from a licensed veterinarian and stay current on all shots and immunizations.  

Can I bring my own furnishings? 

In Apartment Living, Residential with Services and Assisted Living, residents bring their own furnishings and cherished belongings to make Canton Christian Home their home.  

Is additional storage space available?

Yes, each unit in Apartment Living, Residential with Services have additional storage available.  

Is Canton Christian Home Medicare and Medicaid licensed?

Yes, Medicare is a program for residents requiring physical, occupational and speech therapy services after a qualifying hospital stay. Medicaid is a program for those living in Nursing Care who have spent down to $1500 in assets or less and meet the Medicaid requirements.
